Independent Service Oriented Architecture Education from Everware-CBDI

Everware-CBDI has built a comprehensive SOA methodology for architecture and service identification and implementation. CBDI education offerings have been developed specifically to teach best practices and guidance in Service Oriented Architecture during all phases of project or program activity. These courses offer an independent perspective, reflecting broad industry experience rather than vendor perspectives.

Everware-CBDI is now offering these courses in the North American and European commercial and government markets. The CBDI courses are offered on a public basis in Washington, DC, and London and will also be offered to organizations as private on-site classes.

The registration fee for public classes is $600/day. Discounts are available to CBDI Forum Corporate Members and government employees as well as for early registration and multiple attendees from the same organization. Courses currently available are:

Education Offerings:

The SOA Seminar (1-day) - Introductory seminar in SOA for a broad audience covering topics including introduction to SOA concepts, the business case, planning for services, life cycle, infrastructure, organization, roadmap planning and policy setting.

SOA For Managers (2-day) - An introduction to SOA for managers providing the conceptual understanding plus essential guidance on how to address the SOA challenges relating to integrating new architectural concepts into an organization's processes and practices.

SOA Governance Practices (1-day) - Guidance on setting policies and managing compliance to ensure adequate governance is applied to SOA delivery.

Delivering the Business Service Architecture (3-day) - Guidance in developing a Business Service Architecture (BSA) and Service Portfolio Plan (SPP). Includes techniques to identify and describe a portfolio of services, and to create the service reference model (taxonomy, classifications, policies, tactics). (Previously known as Service Portfolio Planning.)

Preparing Rich Service Specifications (1-day) - Focused workshop provides detailed guidance on how to model and document rich Service Specifications to enable precise contracts between Service Provider and Consumer.

SOA for Business Analysts (2-day) - Guidance in business analysis techniques to understand service oriented business design and ensure that delivery of the Business Service Architecture adequately reflects the flexibility and consistency requirements of the business.

SOA Fast Track (5-day) - The SOA Fast Track combines modules from other workshops in an intensive 5 days of training that provides sufficient depth and breadth to get organizations effective in SOA in as short a time as possible.

Technology Infrastructure for SOA (1-day) - Guidance on establishing the operational and Service lifecycle infrastructure to support SOA providing a framework within which to position and select relevant standards, technologies and appropriate products.
