EVERWARE-CBDI SOA KNOWLEDGEBASE AVAILABLE TO GOVERNMENT AGENCIES ON GSA SCHEDULE

Documented Best Practices for High Quality and Repeatable Delivery Accelerate Federal SOA Capability Maturity

FAIRFAX, Va, December 1st, 2008.  Everware-CBDI Inc. the leading independent source of best practices, consulting and education on Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) announced today that their SOA subscription products have been approved by the General Services Administration (GSA) for inclusion on Schedule 76.  The two subscription offerings available are CBDI Forum Gold and Platinum membership.

CBDI Service Architecture and Engineering (CBDI SAE™) is the leading, comprehensive methodology for SOA and comprises integrated concepts, reference architecture and processes in a structured approach for SOA.  SAE is based on sound architectural principles that can deliver flexibility, sharing, and consistency of Services.  The CBDI SAE™ Knowledgebase provides role-based guidance for SOA adoption and delivery including SOA governance, service architecture and design, and service portfolio management, and more. It is available to Platinum members through a Microsoft Sharepoint hosted portal which provides users detailed guidance on all aspects of the SAE SOA Reference Framework, including:
  • Reference Model and Reference Architecture
  • Detailed SOA deliverables with templates and worked examples
  • Extensive technique and practice guidance
  • Discipline and process definitions
SOA is widely regarded as one of the most profound changes in enterprise computing. Yet there is general confusion over basic concepts, architecture and practices. Everware-CBDI President Dave Mayo explains, “Many organizations are facing challenges in adopting SOA because they are receiving advice from a multitude of sources – from vendor white papers to SOA-focused blogs. The CBDI SAE provides an integrated, tested approach to SOA implementation that can eliminate years of wasted and inconsistent effort in achieving the goals of SOA adoption.”

OMB and the Federal CIO Council are promoting the adoption of SOA as a way to improve organizational agility, information sharing and interoperability.  Everware-CBDI played a lead role in developing the Practical Guide for Federal SOA, recently released by the Federal CIO Council (see: PGFSOA).  CBDI SAE supports the concepts and recommendations contained in the Practical Guide and provides productivity aids designed to accelerate SOA capability maturity. Obtaining these resources via the GSA Schedule will enable government organizations to access the same valuable resources employed by leading commercial enterprises.
