Everware expands reuse service portfolio with ComponentSource SAVE-IT™

Large-scale software-reuse solution SAVE-IT (Software Asset Value Engineering in Information Technology) to help reap return on Java investment for Everware customers

FAIRFAX, VA - April 7, 2003 - Everware, a leading provider of enterprise component solutions and related services for the Global 2000, announced today that it has joined the network of selected expert organizations represented under ComponentSource’s newly launched Value Added Reseller (VAR) program, helping drive the success of reuse initiatives across the enterprise. Accredited with ComponentSource’s highest level of partnership, Enterprise Tier, Everware will add ComponentSource’s SAVE-IT Web services reuse infrastructure (SAVE-IT Catalog) and organizational model for reuse (SAVE-IT Process) to the list of component architecture and provisioning services offered to customers looking for a return on their Java investment.

SAVE-IT is of particular appeal to large geographically dispersed organizations looking for centralized control and multiple secure views over their software assets. SAVE-IT offers ‘scalable total cost of ownership’™ integrating with existing tools, installed repositories and development methodologies to ensure minimal disruption to the development environment. SAVE-IT furthermore offers a holistic view and access to the software asset universe within an organization as well as over 10,000 commercial off-the-shelf components available on ComponentSource’s global marketplace to help kick start and sustain reuse efforts.

"Everware has over eight year’s extensive experience architecting, constructing and delivering mission critical componentized solutions." said Sam Patterson, CEO of ComponentSource. “We selected Everware for their complimentary expertise and broad-reaching engagements with organizations in corporate America interested in reuse. As a strategic SAVE-IT partner, they help further expand our market reach to a mature reuse-ready customer-base.”

Warren Ellmore, President of Everware added “We’re excited about expanding our relationship with ComponentSource to include SAVE-IT. This unique and high-value offering is the key to fully leveraging software assets throughout an enterprise. Organizations with a wide variety of software assets, either purchased or developed, need to have an efficient and scalable capability to maximize the benefits associated with reuse - that’s exactly what SAVE-IT offers.”

Under the terms of the partnership Everware and ComponentSource will also work together to respond to specific customer requests for customized J2EE components. Using Everware’s advanced component development capability, open, standards-based enterprise components can be delivered more quickly and less expensively than traditionally developed components.
